DANIEL D. LEVENSON Edward F. Fay is a principal of the firm. Ed's practice focuses in the areas of business planning, income tax planning and estate tax planning. Ed's years of experience, including practice as a certified public accountant for an international accounting firm, and his technical expertise in corporate and partnership tax issues, permit him to advise clients in a broad range of matters, including choice of entity decisions, and tax-efficient sales, mergers and acquisitions.

A substantial portion of Ed's practice is devoted to representing closely-held businesses and their owners, particularly with regard to wealth transfers, estate planning and succession issues. In addition, Ed represents clients with respect to tax controversy matters before the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Revenue, as well as before various courts.

Ed also practices in the area of structuring real estate investments and transfers, and has experience in related issues, such as like-kind exchanges. He is a columnist for the New England Real Estate Journal, and writes frequently regarding tax planning matters.

Ed graduated summa cum laude from Boston College in 1979 with a degree in accounting, and received his J.D. cum laude from Boston College Law School in 1982. Ed also received a Masters of Law in Taxation (LL.M) from Boston University in 1986.
