Our attorneys represent clients in a wide range of tax controversies before a variety of administrative agencies including the Internal Revenue Service and the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. Our representation extends to all levels of this process, including tax audits and appellate conferences before the Appeals Office of the Internal Revenue Service and the Office of Appeals of the Massachusetts Department of Revenue. Although our goal is to achieve the most favorable result for our clients without resorting to trial, we litigate as necessary at the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. District Court for Massachusetts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit on federal tax matters, and at the Appellate Tax Board on state issues. More rarely, we represent clients before the SJC and the United States Supreme Court. |
