x Thomas R. Marton

Thomas R. Marton is a principal of the firm. His practice focuses on estate planning, business planning and tax matters. In the estate planning area, he advises clients on a broad range of issues, including asset allocation, fiduciary concerns, wealth preservation and planned giving. He also has extensive experience in acquisitions, reorganizations, financings, leasing, choice of entity, and succession issues. As a skilled and experienced mediator, he often can find ways to consummate nettlesome business transactions and address sensitive family concerns.

Mr. Marton received a bachelor's degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1983 and a law degree from the University of Chicago in 1993.

Prior to joining Lourie & Cutler, Mr. Marton was clerk to the Honorable Douglas P. Woodlock, US District Court of Massachusetts. He is the co-author of "Estate Planning for Owners of More than One Business," Trusts & Estates, July 2000.
